TOKYO — Jan. 19, 2026 — MOCHI-O, the adorable apocalyptic tower defense shooter adventure developed by Zxima and published by Kodansha Creators’ Lab, launches on PC via Steam today with a 20% discount until Sunday, Feb. 1st, 2026.
Doomsday looms, and the nation’s last line of defense is… a seemingly harmless hamster? Nurture MOCHI-O with lots of love to foster fresh firepower, then aim it toward approaching foes to blast destructive bullets and beams in their direction.
Feed MOCHI-O bundles of seeds during battle to gain experience points, and enhance its world-saving abilities with upgrades to firing rate, crit chance, attack range, and cooldown reductions. Between waves of warfare, cuddle with the adorable hamster to forge an unbreakable bond and unlock even stronger weapons like proximity mines, rail cannons, and time-stopping laser beams.
Decorate MOCHI-O’s room with over a hundred pieces of art, and enjoy classic tower defense action combined with retro pixelated visuals and a comical “gentle apocalypse” narrative. Experiment with custom builds as MOCHI-O’s nurturing system encourages dozens of different playstyles.
“There are so many games about the end of the world, but many of them have a very serious tone,” says developer Zxima. “The contrast of cuteness and destruction in MOCHI-O leads to a light-hearted take on the apocalypse, echoing themes of my previous works.”
