MELBOURNE, Australia — Feb. 19, 2026 — Pro Jank Footy, an over-the-top arcade comedy-sports game where Aussie Rules Football goes rogue, suits up to launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1|2 in 2026, as revealed in a new trailer during Indie Fan Fest.
Co-developers Powerbomb Games and Tinker Town, alongside publisher Umbrella Gaming, throw common sense by the wayside for the wildest footy match ever. Inspired by classic arcade sports games and infused with absurd comedic stylings, Pro Jank Footy delivers an action-packed and over-the-top sports roguelike where no two matches play out the same.
Sporting both solo and local head-to-head matches, as well as online multiplayer support, Pro Jank Footy ups the intensity with a power-up-based twist. Whenever a goal is scored, the opposing team draws a random card that immediately alters the game. Each of the 150 power-up cards introduces chaotic modifiers that can turn players into seagulls, completely reset the score by causing a power outage, or summon a floating DVD logo that wins you the game if it hits the corner of the screen. Every goal adds a new power-up, tipping the scales and shifting the momentum of each match. Pro Jank Footy quickly evolves from a retro-inspired, classic sports game to an all-out, frenzied party game that is as exciting to watch as it is to play
Unpredictable power-ups and fast-paced action keep the intensity up during every match, aided by an intuitive, pick-up-and-play control scheme that even your dad can play. Choose from one of 10 clubs, each with colorful members and bespoke anthems, and lead the team to victory in single-player Season Mode.
Pro Jank Footy captures the essence of Australia’s national pastime thanks to the minds of creative director David Ashby (Danger 5), producer Cam Rogers, and co-creator/lead developer Tyler Roach, blending a deep appreciation for the sport with comedic stylings. Furthering the humorous spin on footy is in-game commentary provided by comedy legend Broden Kelly (Aunty Donna).
Pro Jank Footy honors Australia’s favourite game, Australian Rules Football, and celebrates the fact that nobody outside of the country even knows what the sport is.
